RACEVIEW'S hopes of earning a crack at one of the Carling premiership's 'big guns' in the Irish Cup ended on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat by Draperstown Celtic.
Meanwhile, in the Michelin Athletic Club-sponsored Ballymena and Provincial Intermediate League, Owen McAlynn hit a hat-trick for Portglenone but it still wasn't enough to prevent a 5-3 defeat by league leaders Dunloy.

Matches involving locally-based sided this Saturday, November 7, are:
Crawford Cup, round one: Desertmartin v Portglenone.
Wkd Intermediate Cup, round one: 1st Bangor v Raceview.
Junior Division One: Raceview Athletic v Ballyclare Comrades Res; Chimney Corner Res v Tobermore Utd Res.
Junior Division Two: Demesne Strollers v 3rd Ballyclare Old Boys.
Junior Division Two: Newtownabbey Sevens Reserves v Antrim Rovers.
Linda Welshman Memorial Cup, round one (1.30pm): Cookstown Athletic v Carniny Amateurs.
INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE
Clough Rangers Athletic 2, Ballycastle United 1: The deadlock was broken on the 51st minute when Gareth Hyndman scored the opening goal for Ballycastle.
Ballycastle held the lead until Justin Bell scored the equaliser for Clough on the 72nd minute then as time was beginning to run down Ricky Reid nipped in to score what proved to be the winner for Clough on the 82nd minute.
Dunloy 5, Portglenone 3: Dunloy took an early lead in this high scoring game after James Dixon scored on the 2nd minute.
Portglenone came back to equaliser when Owen McAlynn scored on the 31st minute but two goals before half-time scored by Benny McGarry on the 37th and 45th minutes saw Dunloy have a two goal cushion going into the second half.
Benny McGarry completed his hat-trick on the 48th minute but McAlynn with his second goal on the 52nd minute gave Portglenone hope.
Ronan Doey then scored number five for Dunloy on the 78th minute before McAlynn completed his hat-trick on the 86th minute.
IRISH CUP ROUND TWO
Draperstown Celtic 2, Raceview 1: Raceview, who went behind to a brace of goals scored by Eamon Murray on the 7th and 8th minutes, had the chances to win the game in the second half after Philip McBurney had scored on the 46th minute.
McBurney had the chance to double his tally from the penalty spot on the 67th minute but saw his spot kick saved.
After this Raceview continued to push forward but the post and crossbar saved the home side twice leaving them winners at the end.
INTERMEDIATE CUP
Round one results: Rasharkin United 1, Lisburn Distillery II 5; Rathfern Rangers 4, Desertmartin 2; Limavady United 9, Mosside 1; Newbuildings United 3, Cookstown Olympic 2; Brantwood 0, Ballyclare Comrades 3; Tobermore United 9, Kilbride Swifts 1; Markethill Swifts 5, Ballynure OB 2 (aet).

Results: Ballynure Old Boys 'B' 0, Killymoon Rangers Reserves 5; FC Larne 1, Cookstown Athletic 4.

LINDA WELSHMAN MEMORIAL CUP
Ballyclare North End 3, Raceview Athletic 2 (aet): Raceview scored first in this game through Dean Surgenor on the 20th minute but then saw David Cross hit home the equaliser on the 37th minute.
Raceview then took the lead for a second time after Jason Paul scored on the 40th minute but North End equalised on the 41st minute through Craig Montgomery.
Both teams had chances after this but with none scored in normal time extra time was played with the crucial goal being scored by Ricky Thompson on the 97th minute for North End.
Desertmartin Swifts 0, Chimney Corner Reserves 3: The visitors started off well and took the lead after Robbie Lucas scored on the 20th minute and still held this at half-time.
Swifts tried hard to get back into the gamer but two goals scored by Aidan Swann on the 46th and 65th minutes saw Corner progress into the next round.
Other results: Glebe Rangers Reserves 1, Tobermore United Reserves 4 (match abandoned); Magherafelt Sky Blues Reserves 1, Cookstown Olympic Colts 1 (aet, Colts won 4-2 on pens); Newtownabbey Sevens 8, Newtownabbey FC Reserves 1; 3rd Ballyclare Old Boys 5, Mallusk Athletic 2; Ballylcare United 1, Woodlands 2.
