Provincial League hit by weather

SATURDAY'S Ballymena and Provincial Intermediate League programme was once again decimated by the weather.
Although a total of 13 games were played across the four divisions, the inclement conditions in the mid-Antrim area put paid to any local sides' matches going ahead.

FIXTURES

Matches involving locally-based sides this Saturday, February 27, are:

Intermediate League: Raceview v FC Ballynure; Brantwood v Portglenone; Clough Rangers Ath v Dunloy.

Junior Division One: Carniny Amateurs v Dundrod Old Boys.

Linda Welshman Memorial Cup, round two: Chimney Corner Res v Ballyclare North End.

Canada Trophy, round one: Glebe Rangers Res v Antrim Rovers; FC Larne v Demesne Strollers; Ballymoney Utd Res v Raceview Athletic.

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE

Results: FC Ballynure 0, Brantwood 6; Cookstown Olympic 3, Ballynure Old Boys 3.

JUNIOR DIVISION ONE

Ballyclare Comrades Reserves 2, Chimney Corner Reserves 1: Comrades took the lead after Kevin O'Hare scored on the 25th minute and then went on to double their advantage when Marty McAvoy scored on the 39th minute.

Corner came back into the game in the second half and after James Brown scored on the 71st minute they had chance to save the game but to no avail.

Other results: Ballynure Old Boys 'B' 3, Glebe Rangers Reserves 5; Magherafelt Sky Blues Reserves 3, Killymoon Rangers Reserves 0; Newtownabbey Sevens 4, FC Larne 3.

JUNIOR DIVISION TWO

Results: Desertmartin Swifts 5, FC Ballynure Reserves 2; Finvoy 3, 3rd Ballyclare Old Boys 5; Red Star 1, Moyola Park Olympic 3.

JUNIOR DIVISION THREE

Results: Ballyclare United 2, Newtownabbey FC Reserves 1; Mallusk Athletic 3, Ballynure Old Boys Youth 2; Newtownabbey Sevens Reserves 5, Grange Rangers II 0.
