Raceview in cup goal-fest

RACEVIEW were in scintillating goalscoring form in the Wkd Intermediate Cup on Saturday.
Jason Cairns' men hammered Strabane 11-3 at Knockan Road and now await tonight's (Tuesday) third round draw with interest.

Back in the Michelin Athletic Club-sponsored league championship, Clough Rangers Athletic were unable to do Raceview a favour as the Broughshane men's title rivals Coleraine Crusaders beat Alan Boyd's side 3-0.

FIXTURES

Matches involving locally-based sides this Saturday, December 5, are:

Intermediate League: Ballycastle United v Raceview; Clough Rangers Athletic v Desertmartin; Portglenone v Coleraine Crusaders.

Junior Division One: Chimney Corner Res v Ballymoney Utd Res; Killymoon Rangers Res v Raceview Athletic; Carniny Amateurs v Glebe Rangers Res.

Junior Division Two: Cookstown Oly Colts v Demesne Strollers.

Junior Division Three: Antrim Rovers v Ballyclare United.

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE

Portglenone 3, Ballynure Old Boys 6:

Ballynure took the lead on the 20th minute after Kyle Agnew finished off a good move then doubled this lead on the 22nd minute when Marc Campbell scored.

Half-time saw Ballynure still two goals ahead then goals scored by Kyle Agnew on the 46th minute and a penalty by Mark Leckey on the 57th minute saw Ballynure four goals clear.

Portglenone got back into the game after Eoin McAlynn scored on the 59th minute but two more goals for Ballynure scored by Kyle Agnew and Mark Moore on the 60th and 66th minutes saw Ballynure well in control of the game.

To their credit Portglenone never gave up the chase and scored two more goals through Gary Kenny and Tony Culbertson on the 77th and 78th minutes.

Other results: Cookstown Olympic 2, Rasharkin United 2; Coleraine Crusaders 3, Clough Rangers Athletic 0; Kilbride Swifts 3, Desertmartin 2.

WKD INTERMEDIATE CUP

Raceview 11, Strabane 3:

Raceview started off well and took a two goals lead after Lee Garrett and Colin Byers scored on the 6th and 13th minutes.

Strabane came back to level the score before David Tennant put Raceview back in front on the 31st minute.

Strabane came back to equalise on the 41st minute but then goals scored by David Tennant 42nd, Lee Garrett 64th, Barry Mott 66th and Gareth Mott 71st minutes killed off the visitors' hopes.

Raceview then went on to score four more goals through Gareth Mott 85th and 87th minutes and David Tennant 86th and 90th minutes.

JUNIOR DIVISION ONE

FC Larne 2, Carniny Amateurs 1:

Early in the second half Carniny had the chance to go in front from the penalty spot but the kick was missed.

After this let off Larne got going in attack and two goals scored by Senser Yilmaz on the 70th and 80th minute put them in a strong position.

Carniny never gave up the chase but after Jordan graham pulled a goal back on the 85th minute time ran out on them.

Chimney Corner Reserves 8, Raceview Athletic 1:

Raceview took the lead in this game after Andrew Duncan scored on the 3rd minute but then saw Adam Gray score the equaliser for Corner on the 7th minute.
