RACEVIEW blew the race for the Ballymena and Provincial Intermediate League title wide open on Saturday.
The Broughshane men inflicted a first defeat of the Michelin Athletic Club-sponsored championship on Coleraine Crusaders at Anderson Park to boost Raceview's own title hopes.
And there was further good news for Jason Cairns' side as league leaders Dunloy fell to a shock 0-3 home defeat by Rasharkin.
But neither Coleraine Crusaders nor Dunloy suffered as big a blow as Mosside, who have had to reluctantly withdraw from the league for the remainder of the season due to what league officials describe as "a situation beyond their control". The north Antrim men hope to return next season.
FIXTURES
Matches involving locally-based sides this Saturday, November 21, are:
Crawford Cup, round one (1.30pm): Dunloy v Clough Rangers Athletic; Ballycastle United v Raceview.
Junior Division One (2pm): Chimney Corner Res v Ballynure Old Boys 'B'; Killymoon Rangers Res v Carniny Amateurs; Raceview Athletic v Magherafelt Sky Blue Res.
Junior Division Two: Demesne Strollers v Moyola Park Olympic.
Junior Division Three: Mallusk Athletic v Antrim Rovers.
INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE
Coleraine Crusaders 2, Raceview 4: Crusaders had the best of the attacking play at the start and when Ricky Close scored to put them in front on the 27th minute followed by a second goal scored by Ian Clanachan on the 29th minute a home win appeared to be on the cards.
Raceview still trailed by the two goals at half-time but pulled an all-important goal back when Matt Boyd scored on the 63rd minute and followed this up with the equaliser scored by Philip McBurney on the 66th minute.
After this it was Raceview who enjoyed the best of the attacking play and had the Crusaders on the defensive before Gareth Mott scored to put them in front on the 82rd minute.
The crusaders did their best to get back into the game but the points were on their way to Broughshane after Alistair Forsythe headed a fourth goal for Raceview on the 88th minute.
Other results: Dunloy 0, Rasharkin United 3; Desertmartin 3, Cookstown Olympic 2.
JUNIOR DIVISION ONE
Newtownabbey Sevens 4, Raceview Athletic 1: The first goal in the game was scored by San Davidson on the 20th minute and was then quickly followed by a second after Tyson Gray converted a penalty for the Sevens on the 23rd minute.
Raceview never gave up and were unfortunate not to have scored before Ross McAllister put the Sevens three up on the 64th minute and this then became four after Peter Waugh scored on the 70th minute.
