All set for NPS summer show

THE NPS Area 32 Summer Show will take place on Saturday 30th June 2012 at Knockagh View Equestrian Centre.

The Summer Show is always a highlight of the NPS Showing calendar with various qualifiers and a full compliment of NPS silver medal championships available.

The show is grateful to their various show sponsors for their support, which assists so much in the running of the show and in providing these silver medal championships.

These prestigious NPS Silver Medal Championships will be held in the following sections: Riding Pony Breeding; Hunter Pony Breeding; Mountain & Moorland In-Hand and Mountain & Moorland Ridden.

The full show schedule contains further information on the qualifying criteria and the full set of classes available and is run under NPS rules.

The summer show on 30th June also hosts qualifiers for the N.I. Association of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society Show to be held at the Meadows on 7th July 2012 and for the local NPS Area Championship Show to be held at Clogher Valley on 25th July 2012. The NPS Championship Show will this year award an increased total prize fund of £1,050 across the sections, thanks to generous sponsorship.

The Summer Show will be one of few remaning chances to qualify for this Championship Show with Castlewellan and Clogher Valley Shows being the remaining two shows hosting qualifiers.

The local NPS committee are pleased to confirm that the summer show judges are, once again, mainland GB judges who have never judged in Northern Ireland previously. They are Mrs V. Hampton from Hertfordshire, a PUK/NPS M&M Panel judge, and Mrs J. L. Upton, an NPS Riding/Hunter Pony and M&M Panel judge, from Dorset.

As well as judging the full range of ridden and in-hand classes, these judges will also judge the NPS Area Foal Championship.

Entry to the Championship is free. Foals must be at least three weeks old on the day of the show and must accompany their dam.
