CAFRE Enniskillen students studying on the BSc (Hons) Equine Management and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management attended the ITBA Northern Region Seminar on 29 January.

The students listened avidly to a range of top panellists which included point to point trainer Stuart Crawford, Harold Kirk principal buyer for Willie Mullins, Antony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock and Mark MacRedmond partner at Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital.

The panel discussion on French bred versus Irish bred National Hunt horses was of great interest and relevance to all involved and has promoted much debate amongst the students. The event was a fantastic opportunity for the students to engage with the industry and develop an awareness of the current issues faced amongst National Hunt breeders.

For further information on the equine courses delivered at Enniskillen Campus view the website on www.cafre.ac.uk; contact Freephone 0800 0284291 or come along to the next open day on Saturday 23 March at noon.
