The Co Londonderry Horse Breeding Society will be hosting Northern Ireland’s Premier Clydesdale Foal Show on Saturday 13th December, within Ballymena Livestock Market.
There will be classes for all ages of horses, which include Senior and Foal Championships. The popular Young Handlers competition will be held after the Overall Championship. It is open to 10-18 year olds, kindly sponsored annually by Wendy Holmes of Bratwell Clydesdales.
Entries for all classes will be taken on the day.
The judge for this year’s show is Clydesdale breeder and turnout exhibitor Captain Jim Anderson from West Glen Clydesdales, Scotland.
The CLHBS are honoured once again to have the Danske Bank as its major sponsor for the 2014 show. Thanks also go to Jervis Nutt Esq., Kenneth Irwin (Irwin Feeds/Bluegrass) and the numerous members who have donated special prizes down throughout the classes.
This will be the eighth year undercover in Ballymena and the society is truly grateful to J.A. McClelland & Sons and their staff for granting permission to hold the show in such excellent facilities.
Gates will be open at 8am with Judging commencing at 10.30 am (sharp).
The Society will be holding a Christmas Raffle at the show; tickets will be available on the day. Proceeds from last year’s raffle were given to Marie Curie Cancer Care (Friends of Roe Valley) Limavady. This year the show is supporting Northern Ireland, Chest Heart & Stroke.
The society’s ever popular social gathering will be held in the Bush Tavern, Ballymoney, from 9pm on the night of the show. Guests will be entertained by Knoxville Country - everyone is welcome to come along.
