Twenty year old Harold Megahey won the CIC2* at the Ballindenisk International Horse Trials in Cork recently.

Co Antrim’s Harold left his famous four time European medal winning ride Chuckelberry at home to ride another grey, Vina Bullers’ Vanir Hello Duca, to victory at the three day event.

Although the pair have only been together since March, they led their class from day one and took home a winner’s trophy alongside Harold’s 2014 mentor Piggy French and leading British Eventer Oliver Townsend.

Fresh from a CNC2* win at Tyrella with Horseware Good News At Last, Harold is making a good start to the season, a form he hopes to continue at Tattersalls International in May, where he’ll ride Vanir Hello Duca and Horseware Good News At Last in the CIC** and Coolrock Gold Dust in the CCI* YH 6&7 year old class.

All three horses are stabled with Harold at the Glenpatrick Sport Horses’ yard, which seems to be housing a number of exciting equestrian line-ups this year. Definitely one to watch in 2015.
