Holestone Bloodhounds

THE Holestone Farmer Bloodhounds met on Saturday 1st December at McCrory’s Bar on a bright winter’s day for the hunt hosted by Ivan Turney, Sean Devlin, Kevin Devlin, Colin Thompson and Huw Gourley.

Riders were treated to a stirrup cup from McCrory’s Bar before a short hack to start the hunt.

Riders and horses enjoyed several fields with natural jumps and ditches which provided all with entertainment. There were hedges, jumps, ditches and a river to cross before being provided refreshments in the stunning grounds of Lissan House.

After a quick stop the hunt was off again in hot pursuit of the hounds, which could be heard giving tongue the entire hunt.

There were lots more jumps, natural obstacles and a few hedges for the adventurous riders before a short hack back to McCrory’s.

Holestone Farmers would like to thanks Maurice Stewart, and a special thanks to all farmers and landowners.
