THE Holestone Farmers Bloodhounds met on November 24 at the Gault family home on the Ballybracken Road, Ballyclare, for a fantastic day of hunting.

Host Jim Gault and family warmly welcomed all equines and riders to their yard, on this chilly day, toasting the day with hot punch.

The participants were raring to go, the huntsman blew the horn and the hounds set off up a narrow grassy lane to the first field of jumps, with a stone wall at the finish.

A quick hack took the hunt to more fields with more jumps and natural jumps were provided by hunters jumping wide bracken bushes.

The craic was mighty at the rest stop and jokes were ‘ten to the dozen.

The hunt set off over ditches, stone walls, and over the beautiful hills of Co Antrim.

The very natural atmosphere of this hunt gave riders a sense of hunting over true country surroundings.

Back at the Gaults much use was made of the horse swimming pool, with one lucky rider testing his toe.

The Holestone Farmers Bloodhounds would like to thank all those who helped with this amazing day, including all farmers and landowners.
