New Year show for Mourneview club

MOURNEVIEW Riding club recently held their first New Year show at Gamekeepers’ Lodge on Sunday, January 6.

It was a dreary day with plenty of mist so the indoor facilities were perfect and there was a great turn out despite the weather.

The winners and runners up were as follows:

Starter stakes – joint 1st, Adam Gilespie on Chelsea, Emma Gilespie on Beauty and Amy Burden on Billy.

Pre Novice – 1st – Emma Gilespie on Beauty

Novice Pony – 1st, Tierna Harper on Buster, 2nd, Charley Hannah on Hazy, 3rd, Ruby Nugent on Grey Saphire.

Novice Horse – 1st, Kirsten Patterson on cherry, 2nd Kathleen Campbell on Chester, 3rd Uel Speers on Jasper.

Intermediate Pony – 1st, Mellissa Mckee on Prince, 2nd, Shorlah Harper on Buster, 3rd, Jessica Speers on Mya.

Intermediate Horse – 1st, Amy O’Hare on Candy, 2nd, Lesley Anne Moore on Frodo, 3rd, Steven Trimble on Skye.

Open pony – 1st, Naomi Baird on Peppermint, 2nd, Ruth Baird on Grey Saphire, 3rd, Mellissa Mckee on Prince.

Open Horse – 1st, Amy O’Hare on Peggy Sue, 2nd, Amy O’Hare on Candy, 3rd, Shorlah Harper on Sam.

The club would like to thank Gamekeepers’ lodge for a great venue and Moira and Eleanor for the lovely food.

A great day was had by all members and non-members.
