Saintfield Horse Show Director Joan Cunningham has announced that the Ulster Tatler will once again be sponsoring the Ladies Side Saddle Championship at this year’s show on Saturday 15th August at Tyrella House, Downpatrick.

Joan said: “The art of ladies riding side saddle has become increasingly popular over the past few years and without doubt has to be the most glamorous, elegant form of horse riding and an absolute delight to watch.”

Megan Hamil, Ashleigh Kirkpatrick and Caroline McMillan met up with Joan this week to launch the Ulster Tatler Side Saddle Event.

“The show now into it’s seventh year has grown so fast and has become one of the most popular dates on the Equestrian Calendar,” she explained.

“Once again this year we will have two Show Jumping Arenas in operation along with Working Hunter classes for horses and ponies, Ridden Hunters, Show Ponies, Miniature Horses, Downpatrick Race Course Race Horse to Riding Horse, Happy Hackers, Bank of Ireland Ladies Handling Class, Pet Dog Show, Trade Stands, amusements for the kids, and demonstrations.

“There will also be a special class for the ladies attending the Show - “Dressed to Impress” - with fabulous prizes to be won. The very popular Delaney’s musical donkeys will also be trotting with all proceeds going to The Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride 2015 Bore Hole in West Africa Appeal.

“The final touches to the schedule will be made in the next two weeks and will be available to down load from the show’s website.

“Please watch press for more details of this exciting day we have in store for everyone. Admission prices will remain the same at £2.50 for adults and children free with free car parking in the Show field.”
