Route Branch celebrates annual awards

On Saturday 17th January members of the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club and parents attended their annual awards and social evening at the Inn on the Coast, Portrush.

The evening commenced with a delicious buffet supper followed by guest speaker for the evening Debbie Byrne.

Debbie gave a very informative talk on the Irish Junior European Eventing teams 2013 and 2014 team golds before presenting the prizes.

The Showjumping award for the Intermediate class went to Aoife Carr, Novice class to Ellen Donnelly and Junior to Henry Woodrow.

The Area Trials award for the Intermediate class went to Aoife Carr and the Novice class to Niamh Carr; the Dressage Open award to Crystal Moore, the Intermediate to Iona Kane and the Novice to Sophie Winn.

For Tetrathlon the Junior Girls award went to Aoife Carr, the Minimus to Cormac Donnelly and the Fledgling to Cormac Carr.

In the Home Championships section Olivia Quinn was awarded the 85cm class and Victoria Kennedy the 65cm class and the Games award went to Sam Woodrow.

The following Special awards were then presented, the Open to Lucy Lamont, Intermediate Aimee McCaw, Junior Toni McClenaghan, Fledgling Ben McKetchnie and the parent/friend award to Sam Houston for his support throughout the year.

The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all present and a great opportunity to acknowledge the success of the branch members.
