Route Hunt holds New Year’s Day meet

TUESDAY 1st January was the first meet of 2013 for the members of Route Hunt.

Twenty hunt members and seven visitors met at the kennels for yet another great day of hunting. All were welcomed to the meet by the joint master and invited back to the kennels after the hunt for refreshments.

There were various fences constructed throughout the hunt by the meet organisers as well as a small ditch and numerous hedges some of which caught a couple of riders out and saw them and their horses parting company. There was also some time spent on the country roads and laneways between the fences.

Having hunted for two hours through some rain, horses and riders and those following the hunt on foot were happy to return to the kennels to discuss the events of the day and enjoy the tasty refreshments provided by Emily Foster.

Hunt organisers hope to see another good turnout for the next hunt on Saturday 12th January at noon.
