SAINTFIELD Horse Show committee presented cheques for several thousand pounds to the various charities who benefited from this year’s show at a reception held in the Temple Golf Club on Thursday 18th October.

Well known race goer Elizabeth Wilson with her friend Helen McKee sponsored the winning donkey “Danny” in the Saintfield Horse Show Donkey Derby winning £1,000 for their chosen charity. They presented a cheque to Ivan Shannon (Marie Curie Ballynahinch Group). Deborah Doherty (Christian Aid Ireland) also received a cheque for urgent Humanitarian Aid in Africa. Lisa McGrogan (Macmillan Cancer Support) received a cheque for £750 in memory of Annie Tate, who helped at the show but sadly passed away last week. Other charities also benefited.

The fifth annual Saintfield Horse Show will take place on Saturday 17th August 2013.
