Versatile McKenna shines at Dundalk venue

COUNTY Armagh jockey, Liam McKenna who partnered his first ever winner recently over hurdles at Downpatrick for his step-father and trainer, James Lambe, demonstrated his versatility when opening his flat account aboard Regal Warrior at Dundalk last weekend.

The shock 25/1 winner which had not run on the flat since 2009 was again trained by James Lambe who added: “He’s a cool kid and he’s learning his trade.”

Aladdins Cave owned by the Ulster based Treasure Hunters Syndicate and bred by Her Majesty, the Queen completed an Ulster double at the all-weather venue when landing the finale for trainer, Colm Murphy.
