Amid a mixed weather combination of brilliant sunshine and heavy rain showers, the enthusiasm of competitors was undaunted.
With several qualifiers taking place each day this was a great opportunity to secure a place in both the 5 Year Old Cavan Crystal Hotel and the 6 & 7 Year Old P. Elliott Cavan Classic events of the Cavan Indoor Championships in September. Classes were also held as part of the Cavan Grand Prix League on Saturday and Sunday with a prize fund of €1,500 each day. These events were among the most hotly contended of the weekend, nevertheless the novice classes were among the most entertaining of the show with a great number of double clears recorded in each one.
The next showjumping event at Cavan Equestrian Centre will be the Cavan Pony Home International from the 10th – 13th July and for horses, the next event is the 3 Day Horse & Young Rider Show which will take place from Friday 25th – Sunday 27th July.
