The Bann Valley Riding Club celebrated their 40th anniversary this year at the Bowl in Portrush.
Thanks must go to Billy Roulston of the Causeway Coast Charity Show Jumpers Club for the use of their fences and work party, David and Sylvia Nicholl course builders, our judges Dora Beacom and Sandra Long and to our starter Jane Millar.
The classes were extremely well supported and with seven teams in the Riding Club Team Qualifier for National Balmoral this added some extra excitement.
There were a total of 10 double clears out of 36 starters in the 80cm class, which was run American style.
The 90cm class was run as a two phase competition won in fine style by Anne Marie Hughes on Ballyarton Blue Jay, closely followed by Caroline Taylor on Black Revel in 2nd, and Jade Hunter on Murphy in third.
The team qualifier had three teams on a score of zero after the first two rounds with two teams from the Bann Valley and one from the Moy fighting for two qualifying positions and it was the Bann Valley Green team which took the honours by a few seconds from the Moy in second with the Bann Valley Yellow team in third.
This was followed by a one round speed competition with Philip White taking first on Rococo, Beverely Caves second on Diamond and Philip third this time on Fletcher.
