EMMA Jackson enjoyed great success in the final of the Riders Working Hunter League at Lusks Equestrian on Saturday.
Riding Rockrimmon Senator, Emma claimed the championship ahead of Elaine McKenna and Ami B.
Glorious sunshine broke through as competitors arrived at Lusks for the final of the competition. Riders had competed at the qualifiers held between Gransha Equestrian Centre and Lusks since last October and there was a large turnout for the top priz
es.
Competitors gained double points on the finals day so there was still all to play for and competition was fierce through the day.
Those competitors who competed at the finals but who were not qualified in the league had the chance to win feed vouchers kindly sponsored by Blue Grass Horse Feeds organised by their rep Craig Kileff.
The beautiful day and great ground conditions in the paddocks enabled the ridden phase to take place outdoors which added another dimension to the whole day. Riders had to sit tight as the horses felt the grass for the first time.
Judges on the day were local showman Robert Morrow assisted by Jessica Knowles, Rachel Jones and Rachel Long for the jumping phase and local Working Hunter Rider Shirley Anderson with Harold Lusk for the ridden phase.
Thanks go to Claire Knowles who masterminded the entries and scores and was kept busy and of course who better than the riders to ensure she kept the results accurate.
The Next Working Hunter at Lusks is their Annual May Day Show Outdoors on Bank Holiday Monday May 3rd. Classes for Ponies and Horses in preparation for Balmoral Show. For information contact Jenny 07831 661 428.
