REDHALL Riding Club held its second all-indoor two-phase on Easter Monday at Laurelview Equestrian Centre.
The event was really well supported with over 100 riders pitting themselves against the show jumping and indoor cross country courses. Both courses were expertly designed by the staff at Laurelview and the club is indebted to them for this and for providing such an excellent venue. With both phases indoors the riders only had to brave the cold wintry conditions in the warm-up arena.
The showjumping phase did not cause too many problems with a nice flowing course, but the cross country phase caught quite a few riders out with some of the narrow log fences, the cottage and barrels being the main problem areas. With a lot of outdoor cross country courses currently out of action due to the wet weather it gave everyone who took part an excellent opportunity to ride over cross country type fences ahead of the eventing season.
Redhall Riding Club would like to thank all our sponsors – Country Style Burgers, Rodney Ross Farrier Services, Eden Car Sales, David Cross and NFU Ballyclare for all their support which allowed us to provide great prizes for each class. The Club would also like to thank our Secretary, Jenny Caldwell for organising the event and all our members who acted as judges, scribes, scorers, time keepers, and who did all the other essential jobs which made the day such a success.
