Jane Kealey and Flynn battled it out around a challenging course with two other skilled competitors Lisa Mitchell and Elaine McKenna, but Jane came up tops in the speed round to deservedly win first place in the one metre class of Connell Hill's Derby League final.
Jane's determination was duly rewarded with the grand sum of £500 and a rug.
Competitors also to be applauded for their efforts were Elaine McKenna with Amy B who won the 90cms class and Lisa Mitchell with Roddy who won the 80cms class, they both re
ceived £200 and a rug each. Kunnie Gourley with Roddy took first place in both the 60cms and 70cms classes receiving £50 and a rug for each.
Once again Connell Hill organisers left no holds barred when they constructed this 20 fence derby course, which included an array of live farm animals, water features, working hunter fences and show jumps (many of which were made up of doubles and trebles).
Competitors were initially in awe of this spectacular course but they all made a great attempt at mastering its challenge giving spectators plenty to see and going home pleased with themselves for 'getting round'.

On Tuesday, December 1, Connell Hill held the first of their four week Dressage League which proved to be a very chilled and enjoyable evening for those who took part.
