FOLLOWING the success of the recent Northern Ireland Festival Horse and Pony qualifying shows, the festival committee are holding two further qualifying working hunter shows for competitors keen to get an early ticket for the 2010 show.
The final of the Festival working hunter championships will be held on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th April, 2010, at Cavan Equestrian Centre and is the highlight of the showing season for many.
New dates
The next N.I. Festival Horse qualifying show
will be held at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre on Saturday, November 7, starting at 10am.
The show will host qualifiers for the Small Hunter Working Hunter class as well as the 80cms, 90cms and 1m Working Hunter qualifying classes. There will also be a four-year-old working hunter class as well as 70cms performance and working hunter classes.
The next Festival Pony Working Hunter Qualifiers will also be held at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, on Saturday, November 28, starting at 10am with the Cradle Stakes qualifying class. There will be a full range of novice and open pony working hunter classes catering for all levels of experience and ability. The Open classes will each host the qualifiers for the Festival in 2010.
As well as qualifying classes for the Cradle Stakes, Starter Stakes and the 133cms, 143cms and 153cms Open Working Hunter pony classes, there are also three Mountain and Moorland working hunter classes to enable all heights of M&M ponies to qualify – i.e. qualifiers for ponies up to 122cms; ponies over 122cms and up to 138cms and then ponies over 138cms in height.
Additional novice and young working hunter pony classes will also be held along with an Intermediate working hunter pony class.
Entries for both shows will be taken on the day and further details can be found on the Festival website at www.northernirelandfestival.co.uk.
Anyone successful in obtaining one of the much sought after Festival qualifying cards will need to submit their entry, with the relevant entry fee, within two weeks for the qualifier to remain valid. If the entry is not made within this timeframe, the exhibitor will need to qualify again.
In order to facilitate this entering process, the Festival Committee are delighted to launch the option of a new, on-line entering facility for these classes. Entries may be made, and paid for, on-line at the Festival website. Verification of qualification status will be checked against the respective show results. Please see the Festival website at www.northernirelandfestival.co.uk for further details of these shows, and other qualifying opportunities, or to submit an on-line Festival Working Hunter entry.
Good luck to all competitors at the Horse and Pony qualifying shows on 7th and 28th November respectively at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre.
