ON such a glorious day, there could hardly have been a more picturesque setting for a show than Carnfunnock Country Park, with the Scottish coastline visible in the distance, and it was not surprising that the show attracted its usual large attendance, with competitors arriving from all 'arts and parts' for Saturday's 22nd annual Larne Horse and Pony Show.
The organisers would like to thank Larne Borough Council and all other sponsors for their continued support, which enables this show to run successfully each year, and also the judges, scribes, other officials, competitors and anyone who helped in an
y way to make the show a resounding success.
Benefiting from this year's show are the St John's Ambulance Brigade, Roddensvale School and CACTI, an acronym for Comfort and Care for the Terminally Ill
Meanwhile, the coveted Newmills Silver Quaich, for the Champion of Champions went further down the coast to Glenarm girl Jane Magee, on Hollie Bear, with the Sam Steele Memorial Cup, for the Reserve Champion of Champions going to young Lauren Finn, Carrickfergus, with Brookwater Lord of the Light.
