UK-based judges Mrs L Partridge from the Rosedale Stud & Mrs D Machin from the Stanleymoss stud found their supreme champion Pony of the Year in Maggie Letters' six-year-old gelding, Brookwater Lord of the Light. He was ridden by 10-year-old Lauren Finn from Carrickfergus. He took the Young Pony of the Year Championship then went on to stand Supreme Champion of the day.
Taking Reserve Supreme Pony of the Year was 12-year-old Rachel Maybin on the consistent Wedderlie Marmion. Rachel a pupil from Ballymena Academy who has only been riding for a few years scooped the 133 Open & the Starter Stakes titles. She stood cham
pion to Knockmurry King ridden by Shannon Corbett who won the 153 class in the Working Hunter Pony of the Year Championship.
International course designer, David Cole from Nottinghamshire built a beautiful technical but safe track for the Spring Championship Pony of the Year show. David, who designs the Guernsey Horse of the Year Show, is rated as one of the best course designers in the country. He is particularly renowned for his abilities within the pony circuit, having built the major venues of Hickstead, Windsor, Wembley and Olympia. We hope to see David back in 2009 for next years Championship Shows.
In rings 2 & 3 BSPS judges M. Millar & M. Cartilage found their supreme champion in Shirley Moore's' Silverstone with Michelle McDonalds' Huttons Ambo Mayflower reserve supreme.
We would like to thank all those who helped make our championship show a success.
