Redhall Riding Club will once again be running Carrick Show on Saturday, July 5.
This year the show will be held at a new venue which has been provided by the Dobbs family on the Beltoy Road, Carrickfergus. The new location is just a short distance from Beltoy Playing Fields where the show was previously held.
The varied schedu
le for this year's show promises something for everyone with showing classes, working hunter and show jumping. There will also be a clear round ring running all day should anyone wish to have a go at show jumping in a non-competitive environment.
Redhall Riding Club is honoured to have been selected to hold two qualifiers at the show.
The Open Horse Working Hunter class will double up as a qualifier for the prestigious Show of the North Working Hunter final which this year is being held near Lurgan at the end of July.
Also taking place will be a qualifier for the Northern Ireland Riding Club's Show Jumper of the Year competition run by Mossvale Riding Club.
This year, Redhall has lined up some a number of show sponsors so they can offer top prizes. Cannon Motors, Carrickfergus, will sponsor all the horse working hunter classes. Ridden horse/hunter classes will be sponsored by Horse Heaven with rosettes being supplied by PC Computers. Parkgate Saddlery has very kindly agreed to sponsor both ridden and working hunter championships and they provide a cup for the Supreme Horse Champion of the show.
The show will have a great range of pony ridden classes from leading rein to 158cm ridden classes and two mountain and moorland classes. The rosettes for all the pony ridden classes are kindly sponsored by R&K Blair, Straid and Knockaghview EC. Redhall Riding Club is providing prizes for the ridden classes and Billy Andys, Mounthill are providing the prizes for the mountain and moorland classes.
There are six pony working hunter classes ranging from mini stakes up to an open class for ponies measuring 148-253cm and the prizes for these classes are being sponsored by William Patton, Agri Contractor. Northern Bank will be providing the rosettes for this section of the show.
Old Mill Saddlery has once again kindly agreed to sponsor the horse show jumping classes with Compact Horse Transport providing rosettes. The show always has a great turnout for the show jumping classes and with classes ranging from Novice (approx 80cm) to the massive Power and Speed course there will truly be something for everyone to try.
Finally there will be pony jumping running all day with five classes which are sponsored by Dairyside Stores, Gleno, Eden Car Sales and Whitehead Video Store with Clare Vet Group supplying the rosettes for all the classes.

Entries will be taken on the day but to help speed up entries we have put a copy of the entry form onto the website so you can print it off and completed it in advance to bring along on the day.
