Kilrea auctioneer Mark Stewart has confirmed that 15 lots have been catalogued for next week’s Holstein NI bull show and sale.

Sponsored by Semex, the pre-sale show on Tuesday 11th October will be judged by Ian Watson from the noted Majestic Herd based at Macosquin near Coleraine.

Judging gets underway at 11am, and will be followed by the sale at noon.

The bulls on offer range in age from February 2015 to September 2015, and are tested (negative PI) and vaccinated for BVD.

Herds represented in the catalogue include: Carrowcroft, Carsehall, Cluntagh, Glasson, Inch, Killane, Mullaugher, Prehen and Relough.

They are sons of leading AI bulls such as Towerview Galaxy, Mountfield SSI DCY Mogul, Welcome Armitage Pesky ET, Regancrest Altaiota, Synergy Altapilsner, Morningview Legend, Cogent Supershot, Lakemead Randolph, Vieuxsaule Flame ET, the outcross sire Sherdon Irresistable, the high genomic type and production sire Seagull Bay Silver, and the influential Riverbridge Co-op Troy.

Mark Stewart added: “The catalogue offers something for everyone, with bulls backed by up to 10 generations of VG and EX dams. They are bred from high yielding and high component cow families, with dam yields to 5.35% butterfat and 3.57% protein.

“The bulls selling boast PLI values to a top of +£470, and GPLI up to +£456.”
