The Young Limousin Breeders will be holding their annual calf show of pedigree and commercial Limousin calves born in 2014 on January 10th at Ballymena Livestock Mart.

Once again due to the generosity of all the sponsors, the YLB can put forward substantial prize money. This means the pedigree and commercial champion each can take £500 with the overall champion taking a further £500, meaning the supreme champion walks home with £1,000.

Judge is Melanie Alford, owner of the Foxhillfarm Herd of pedigree and commercial livestock. Melanie, husband Michael and daughter Charlotte are well known for their success within the show ring in recent years. Mr and Mrs Alford recently created a world record when they co-purchased Glenrock Illusion, the Limousin maiden heifer that sold for £131,000.

Following the show of calves and female sale, there will be an optional sale of pedigree and commercial show calves. Entry forms are available at: limousin.co.uk/events/?event_id=567
