28 Holstein bulls are Kilrea bound

Catalogues are available for next week’s Holstein NI bull show and sale at Kilrea Livestock Mart.

Sponsored by Genus ABS, the sale takes place on Tuesday 3rd March, with judging commencing at 11am, followed by the sale at noon.

Judging is in the capable hands of William Kerr from the noted Fordwich herd based at Cloughmills, County Antrim.

Auctioneer Mark Stewart has confirmed that the catalogue comprises of 28 bulls from a number of the Province’s leading herds. “The catalogue includes a wide selection of bulls with modern and outcross pedigrees, bred from world-leading cow families, and backed by generation after generation of VG and EX dams. All bulls have a negative PI and are vaccinated for BVD.”

Entries have been received from the following herds: Ballycairn, Carsehall, Cloney, Derrydorragh, Drumeil, Glasson, Killane, Majestic, Mullagher, Prehen and Relough.

A number of NI-bred sires also feature in the catalogue, including the England Ammon Millon son Killane Fieldman; the O-Bee Manfred Justice son Ballycairn Oman Pello; the Regancrest Altaiota son Relough Generate; the Schillview Garrett son Ballycairn Garrett Tarzan; and Ballycairn Tiergan, the proven sire at Cogent and former number one PLI bull.
