Cattle prices very strong at Markethill

Store cattle prices were very strong at Markethill on Saturday 28th November with the current downturn in finished cattle having no negative influence on the trade for store cattle.

Both good quality cattle and Friesian bred cattle sold in a very confident trade.

HEIFERS: The 90 store heifers sold in an excellent trade. Forward heifers to £196 for 540k at £1060 for a Newtownhamilton farmer. Top price £1165 for 670k. All good quality lots from £175 to £187 per 100 kilos. Middleweight heifers sold from £185 to £197 per 100 kilos with several top quality lots from £200 to £220 for 364k at £800. Second quality heifers sold readily from £160 to £170 per 100 kilos.
