Following on from an amazing show season Northern Ireland Charollais Sheep breeders are now preparing for their premier sale.

A highly successful UK premier sale at Worcester Market, where averages were up £200 and prices peaked at £7,000 for a ram lamb shown by Welsh breeders David and Paul Curran, hopefully augers well for the Northern Ireland Premier in Dungannon Market on Monday, July 25. Show 10am with the sale at 1pm.

Judge for the presale show is Arwyn Thomas from the Arbyn Flock, Wales. One hundred and 80 sheep are catalogued for sale including 40 senior and shearling rams, 115 ram lambs and 22 ewe lambs. All sheep are subject to a strict inspection and sold under society rules so buyers can buy with confidence. All sheep are eligible for immediate export.

Catalogue can be viewed online at www.charollaissheep.com.

A spokesperson said: “The Charollais breed is now well established as a prominent terminal sire.

“The commercial farmer realises the extra value which using Charollais can bring to their enterprise with their great length and impressive feed conversion.

“Don’t miss out on one of the first ram sales of the season.”
