Show attendees at this year’s CropTec event were given the opportunity to win a Big Brute Popular grain store vacuum cleaner when visiting the Bayer stand.
“We’re running this competition as part of ongoing messaging to raise awareness of the importance of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to grain store preparation pre-harvest,” says Ken Black, Bayer’s Rural Hygiene Manager.
“We had a busy stand both days of the event, and interest in the competition was high. Visitors were interested in the competition, and many also wanted to know more about the machine itself; it was a great success.
“We’ll be announcing the winner of the competition after LAMMA in January,” he says. “People will still have the opportunity to enter the competition at this show.”
Information about Bayer’s new innovative rodenticide, which is to be officially launched to the agricultural market in the New Year, also featured on the stand. Racumin® Foam is a unique foam formulation and is designed for control of both rats and mice, as part of an integrated control programme.
“Our latest rodenticide will officially launch at LAMMA, but we wanted to offer a ‘sneak peak’ to the visitors at CropTec,” says Ken. “However, it was great to see that people were already aware of Racumin® Foam and came to the stand specifically to find out more.”
He explains how this new product’s foam formulation has been designed to overcome any issues of bait shyness. “The bait can be placed in areas where the rodents are known to pass, such as access holes and pipeworks. The product is transferred to the pest’s coat as they brush past the foam and it’s then ingested during routine grooming,” says Ken. “This solution is perfect in situations where other food temptations limit the uptake of conventional bait.”
Overall, CropTec proved to be a great success for Bayer, with lots of interest and interaction with show visitors. “We had a constant flow of people all day, both days, and it provided an ideal platform to speak one-to-one with those who matter most, our customers.”
