Dairy stock sell to £1130 at Markethill

Dairy stock sold to £1130 at Markethill on Tuesday 16th August paid for a calved third calver from a Banbridge farmer.

An Armagh producer received £1100 for a calved third calver.

CULL COWS: The 130 cull cows maintained a very firm trade. Beef-bred cows from £120 to £134 for 860k at £1155. Fleshed Friesians from £105 to £116 for 650k at £755. Second quality Friesians from £80 to £95 per 100 kilos with the poorest types from £55 to £75 per 100 kilos.

CALVES: The 140 lots in the calf ring sold in a steady trade. Bull calved peaked at £400 for a five week old Char. Main demand from £230 to £285. Heifer calves sold from £180 to £280 for a five week old Sim.
