Dairy stock sells to £1140 at Markethill

Dairy stock sold to £1140 at Markethill on Tuesday 15th March for a calved Red and White Holstein heifer from an Aghalee farmer.

A Kilkeel farmer sold two calved heifers at £1070 and £950 each.

A Loughgall farmer sold a calved heifer at £1000.

In-calf suckler cows sold at £1120 and £990 each.

CULL COWS: The 110 cull cows sold in a steady trade. Beef-bred cow to £141 for 996k Char cow at £1400. Main demand from £120 to £135 for 814k at £1000. Fleshed Friesian cows to £107 for 836k at £895. All well fleshed friesians from £95 to £106 per 100 kilos. Second quality Friesians from £80 to £90 per 100 kilos and the poorest types from £55 to £75 per 100 kilos.
