Danske Bank Sheep Championship Final at Antrim Show

The 2015 NISA/Danske Bank Sheep Championship has again attracted lots of interest from sheep breeders across Northern Ireland with a top class line-up of ewes – from a wide range of breeds – heading to the final of this prestigious competition at Antrim Show today.

All of the sheep taking part have qualified at earlier shows – Armagh, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Castlewellan, Londonderry, Lurgan, Newry, Omagh, and Saintfield and shows.

Members of Danske Bank’s team of agribusiness managers from right across the country were on hand at the qualifying shows to hand over rosettes to each of the qualifiers. Danske Bank is proud of its long association with all of the local agricultural shows and pleased to sponsor many competitions and activities at these important events in the rural calendar.

This year’s final will be judged by well known Texel breeder James Warnock from Lanark who is no stranger to the show-ring and will select the Supreme Champion from amongst the qualifying ewes.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from Danske Bank the top five sheep at the final will receive prize money and special Danske Bank rosettes, with the NISA/Danske Bank Sheep Champion 2015 also taking home a specially commissioned Belfast Crystal Trophy.

NISA representatives were also in attendance at many of the qualifying shows and welcomed Danske Bank’s continued support for this NISA Championship with the Final promising a real spectacle for sheep farmers with some of the best pedigree ewes in the country competing at Antrim Show on Saturday 25th July 2015.
