The Dexter Cattle Society NI Group annual dinner and presentation of Trophies took place on Saturday, October 22, held at the Ramble Inn, Antrim.

The speaker this year was Kenny Gracey, well known for his support for Rare Breeds. He described his involvement in the making of numerous films, including Game of Thrones, for which he provided animals.

This, he said, was a very remunerative “farm diversification”. After a very enjoyable meal the cups and trophies were presented by Kenny. The recipient of the “Showman of the Year” Trophy was this year one of the oldest members, Newell Bingham of the Ballykeel herd. Now in his eighties, Newell is still showing his Dexters upholding a fantastic record of champions and winners over the years.
