Entries are sought for Simmental sale in May

The NI Simmental Club is inviting commercial female entries for its evening show and sale at Ballymena Mart on Wednesday 27th May. Pedigree and commercial entries close at the end of April.

The Northern Ireland Simmental Cattle Breeders’ Club is hosting a show and sale of pedigree and commercial livestock at Ballymena Mart on Wednesday 27th May.

The evening show and sale is sponsored by the Kells-based Edenvale Simmental Herd and Connon General Merchants.

Conrad Fegan from the 8-cow Knockreagh herd based at Rostrevor, will officiate in the judging ring. Pedigree entries must be vaccinated for BVD, and will be veterinary inspected on the day.

Club secretary Robin Boyd said: “We are also planning to host a sale of cross-bred Simmental females. Anyone interested in entering maiden or in-calf heifers and cows, should contact Nigel Glasgow on mobile: 07711 747009. Commercial entries must be tested and vaccinated for BVD, and will be on-farm inspected prior to the sale.”

The closing date for entries is the end of April.
