Entry of 125 cull cows at Markethill sells to a firm trade

In the cow ring: An entry of 125 cull cows at Markethill on Tuesday 30th August continued to sell in a firm trade.

Beef-bred cows to £154 per 100kg for 628kgs at £965 and up to £1255 for 940kg (133). Main demand from £120 per 100kg to £148 per 100kg.

Fleshed Friesian from £100 per 100kg to £113 per 100kg for 706kg at £795 with a top price of £1035 for 956kg (108).

Second quality Friesian from £80 per 100kg to £95 per 100kg with the poorest types from £50 per 100kg to £70 per 100kg.

Cull cows: Armagh farmer 628k, £965, £154.00; Banbridge farmer 702k, £1040, £148.00; Richhill farmer 668k, £900, £135; Aughnacloy farmer 942k, £1255, £133.00; Banbridge farmer 662k, £880, £133.00; Scarva farmer 730k, £950, £130.00; Poyntzpass farmer 754k, £950, £126.00.

An entry of Fleckvieh heifers sold from £420 to £525 each for a Ballynahinch farmer.
