Exciting events planned for Young Farmers

The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) is excited to be part of Balmoral Show 2015 at Balmoral Park and has created an action-packed timetable of events for this year’s Show.

The YFCU Stand at Balmoral is sponsored this year by the Yellow Wellies Campaign of the Farm Safety Foundation. Throughout the show, the YFCU will have a trailer and stand beside the Cattle Rings which will be staffed by members from the YFCU who will be on hand to welcome visitors and answer any questions on the Association.

There will be plenty of competitions and activities provided by Yellow Wellie And YFCU throughout the three days of Balmoral Show.

Activities begin on Wednesday morning in the Sheep Shearing Marquee, with the YFCU sheep shearing competition, sponsored by Lister Shearing, which commences at 10.00am.

Following this is a Demonstration Presentation on the YFCU stand at 1pm. At 3pm the Floral Art Competition will take place in the Shearing Arena. Finishing up the YFCU events on the Wednesday afternoon at 5pm is the Girls Football which will take place at the Cattle Rings.

Thursday begins with a showcase of the popular Arts Festival performances on the YFCU Stand at 1pm, with a Tug of War draw taking place soon after at 3.30pm also on the stand.

At 4.15pm the Machinery Handling competition sponsored by Johnston and Gilpin will take place at the Cattle Rings.

One of the most eagerly anticipated events will end the Thursday afternoon activities with Tug of War at 6pm at the Cattle Rings, run in association with John Thompson and Sons.

Friday will see full activity on the YFCU Stand with many prizes, competitions and give aways from the sponsor, Yellow Wellies. Between 11am and 1pm there will be health checks provided by S W O T, everyone is welcome to come along and avail of the services provided by the medical team.

Ending the YFCU events at Balmoral will be a Home Management Show Case which will include lots of delicious treats cooked up by members – please come along to watch and sample some of the goodies!
