A pure bred Saler cow is proving herself to be quite the prolific mother after giving birth to her fifth set of twins in six years.
Roly Cunningham’s Saler Woodlawn Eve’s fifth set of twins are two heifer calves by Barcardi Herbie. Eve has now produced 11 calves in six years.
The cow is a home bred animal by the Hillsborough based farmer.
Her last set of twins was born in May times and in her lifetime she has had two heifers, two heifers, two bulls, one bull and two heifers, and again two heifers.
Mr Cunningham says numbers on the farm don’t justify a stock bull, so AI is used very successfully as has been proven by Woodlawn Eve.
