Firm demand in all rings at Markethill

An entry of 780 store cattle, weanlings and sucklers continued to sell in a very firm demand in all rings.

Export buyers and customers from throughout NI were in attendance.

HEIFERS

The 260 store heifers returned another very good trade with forward heifers selling to £1125 for 572k from a Loughgall farmer. All good quality lots from £178 to £202 for 388k at £860. Main demand from £180 to £193 per 100 kilos. Lightweight heifers in strong demand with good quality lots from £188 to £213 per 100 kilos with a top of £260 for 288k at £750 from an Armagh producer. Second quality heifers from £160 to £170 per 100 kilos.
