Firm trade for sheep at Markethill

An entry of 1030 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 20th July continued to sell in a very firm trade.

Heavy lambs sold to £88 each with most pens from £84 to £87 each. Top rate of 367p/kg for 15 lambs 24kg at £88 each. Main demand frin 340p/kg to 354p/kg.

Middleweight lambs to 397p/kg for 23.2kg at £92 each followed by 391p/kg for 22kg at £86 each. All good quality pens from 355p/kg to 376p/kg.

Light store lambs to 392p/kg for 12.5kg at £49 each. Stronger stores to 376p/kg for 19.4kgs at £73 each. All good quality pens from 340p/kg to 369p/kg.

Cull ewes to £100 each. Main demand from £75 to £94 each. Plainer ewes from £50 to £65 each.
