The president of Hampshire Down Sheep Breeder’s Association, Mr John Mercer and his wife Olive, Councillor, Banbridge District Council, on behalf of Hampshire Down Ireland, recently presented a cheque for £150 to Dromara girl, 9 year old Georgina Bailey.

Georgina suffers from the life-threatening medical conditions of Hyperinsulinism and associated Epilepsy. Georgina attends Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and is under the care of Professor Hussain and his dedicated team, both Endocrine and Neurological.

The money donated was raised at a local show and sale held by Hampshire Down (Ireland), where Georgina’s father, Mr William Bailey, demonstrated ultra-sound scanning on some of the sheep at the event.

Georgina’s mum, Christine, thanked Hampshire Down (Ireland) for their continued generosity towards The Children’s Hyperinsulinism Fund, based at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

She also extended her thanks to the local community who have practically and prayerfully supported the family, not only in the times when Georgina has taken seriously ill, but also on a day-to-day basis.
