Rebecca McClean from Lisbellaw has been awarded the Vaughan Trust Scholarship for the 2013/2014 academic year.

The £2,000 Scholarship award is awarded annually to the top student from Co Fermanagh who is studying agriculture or an agricultural related degree at Harper Adams University in Shropshire. The student is chosen by the University based on academic success in the previous academic year.

The Scholarship was set up last year by the Vaughan Trust to encourage and support Fermanagh students studying at Harper Adams University. The first recipient of the Scholarship last year was Connor Donaldson from Enniskillen. The Scholarship is awarded in addition to annual financial support of £800 awarded by the Vaughan Trust towards travel and expenses for each Fermanagh agriculture degree student studying at Harper Adams University. 3,000 undergraduate and post graduate students study at Harper Adams University.
