Heavy bullocks to £1305 for 680k at Markethill

An entry of 904 cattle at Markethill on Saturday 10th September represented the highest throughput at the mart to date.

Trade for all stock was very firm with buyers and sellers from throughout Northern Ireland in attendance.

A considerable number of cattle were purchased for export to England and Scotland.

BULLOCKS: The 430 bullocks sold in a very strong demand. Heavy bullocks to £1305 for 680k (192). All good quality lots from £190 to £211 for 512k Angus at £1080. Middleweights to £217 for 420k at £910. Good quality lots from £195 to £215 per £100 kilos. Forward Friesians to £1090 for 670k from a Katesbridge farmer. All good types from £145 to £165 for 630k at £1040. Middleweight Friesians from £135 to £153 for 470k at £720.
