Heavy lambs sell from £78 to £83 each at Markethill

An entry of 1,000 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday sold in a slightly easier trade, although heavy lambs sold from £78 to £83 each with a top price of £85 for 25kgs (340).

Main demand sold from 315p to 335p per kilo.

Good quality middleweight lambs sold from 325p to 337p per kilo for 22.7 kilos at £76.50 each and for 22.2 kilos at £74.80 each.

Stores continued to sell in a very firm trade to 397p per kilo for 15.6 kilos at £62 each. Main demand sold from 350p to 392p per kilo.

Cull ewes sold to £86 each. Main demand sold from £65 to £84 each. Plainer ewes sold from £40 to £60 each.
