Heifers sell to £945 for 482kg at Swatragh

Cattle: Another strong entry of quality cattle on Monday 11th April met a good trade with some very good prices, more quality stock required to meet demand.

Heifers selling to £945 for 482kg with bullocks selling to £1,040 for 615kgs.

Sheep: A super entry of 1,185 sheep at Swatragh on Saturday 9th April witnessed a very good solid lamb trade. Several pens of heavy lambs sold well in excess of £95.50 each to a top rate of £97.50, middleweight lambs sold to £77.50 for 21.75kg, spring lambs sold to £99.00, ewes sold to £112.00 while ewes and lambs sold to £203.00.

Middleweight lambs: Limavady producer 4 lambs 21.75kg at 77.50 =356p; Draperstown producer 24 lambs 19.5kg at 75.00 = 385p.

Store lambs: Portglenone producer 2 lambs 17kg at 61.50 = 362p; Maghera producer 5 lambs 17kg at 67.00 = 394p.

Ewes: Draperstown producer 2 Texels at 112.00; Coagh producer 1 Suffolk at 110.00.
