Holstein NI has announced the winners of its free prize draw for a trip to UK Dairy Day later this year.
Sponsored by Devenish Nutrition, the prize draw took place at Balmoral Show, and the winning tickets were drawn by Holstein NI chairman Stuart Smith, and sponsor Stephen Agnew.
The winning ticket holders were Jackie Hamilton from the Ballymacauley Herd based at Collone, County Armagh, and William McKee from the Vogie Herd at Newtownards, County Down.
The prize includes return flights from Belfast to Birmingham, accommodation and meals.
Departing on Wednesday 16th September 2015 the trip includes a visit to the second UK Dairy Day at Telford International Centre. More than 200 trade stands will be in attendance at the event which also plays host to the National Holstein Show.
A new feature of this year’s UK Dairy Day is the Red Ribbon sale, featuring a specially selected line-up of deep pedigreed dairy animals. The evening will conclude with the Champions Dinner and presentation of awards.
The itinerary for Thursday 17th September includes visits to three dairy farms.
First stop is the 250-cow Aintree herd owned by Richard and Ruth Pilkington, Shordley Hall, Wrexham.
The second visit will be hosted by Andrew Evans who runs more than 2,000 commercial cows at Bubney Farm, Whitchurch, Shropshire. After lunch the third and final stop is the Duke of Westminster’s Grosvenor Farm based at Aldford Hall near Chester.
