Following their prestigious Holstein UK Premier Pedigree Herd 2014 win, Eifion, Mary, Wyn and Rhys Jones, owners of Feithy Holsteins, have announced the date of their highly-anticipated open day.

Held in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside at Cilfeithy-Uchaf, Kidwelly, this one-day event will take place on Saturday 27 June 2015.

Commencing from 11am onwards, highlights include a full herd inspection and elite TAG sale of their top stock.

Averaging 10,600kgs, 4.52%F and 3.25%P, the Jones family run an all year round calving system on a grass based diet and TMR fed all year round.

Focusing on breeding functional, structurally correct cows, the Jones’ have bred a herd of deep quality, with 72 classified Excellent, a further 95 VG’s and 20 GP two year olds. Equally, the herd is no stranger to success, as it’s celebrated recent success by picking up its fifth All Wales Premier Herd title in 2014 and being named a Master Breeder herd in 2013. With leading cow families including the Lilac, Lavender, Lilian, Margaret, Tilly and Portis lines the open day definitely isn’t one to be missed.

Commenting on the open day, Holstein UK’s non-executive director of shows and sales Carl Smith said: “Showcasing the Holstein breed at its best, the Feithy open day promises to impress. The Jones family are well respected in the industry and this event will be a great shop window for their hard work and dedication.”
