HVS Animal Health’s Paul Elwood has confirmed his ongoing commitment to the Pedigree Calf Fair @ Beef NI Expo taking place at Balmoral on Saturday 19th November.

The Crossgar-based company was one of the key sponsors at last year’s inaugural show. “We were delighted with the success of last year’s show, and I am pleased to offer my continued sponsorship of the British Blue and Simmental classes at the 2016 event.”

The family-owned company distributes a wide range of animal health products, and is widely recognised throughout the province and across the UK for its HVS Liquid Gold brand – a specialist mineral and vitamin drench for cattle and sheep.

HVS Liquid Gold Cattle® is suitable for store cattle and suckler cows, in order to boost growth rates and fertility. The recommended dosage rates are: yearlings 60mls per head weanlings 50mls per head, and suckler cows 100mls per head.

Organisers of the forthcoming Pedigree Calf Fair @ Beef NI Expo are keen to remind exhibitors that the closing date for entries is Saturday 22nd October.

The schedule boasts a variety of classes for calves aged between seven and fourteen-months-old. The multi-breed show is inviting entries from ten native and continental beef breeds, and boasts a prize fund in excess of £15,000.

Three show rings will be in operation at the event on Saturday 19th November, with judging getting underway at 10.00am.

The showmanship competition, offering two classes for handlers aged from 12 to 21 years-of-age, will commence at 1.00pm.

The entry fee is £18 (including VAT) per exhibit, and the showmanship entry fee is £5 per person.
