Improved trade for cattle at Markethill

An entry of 150 store cattle at Markethill on Saturday 16th January sold in a further improved trade with a packed ringside of buyers very keen to secure stock.

HEIFERS: Middleweight heifers to £222 for 392k at £870 for a Forkhill farmer followed by £211 for 470k at £990 for a Belleeks farmer. All good quality middleweights from £185 to £206 per 100 kilos. Good quality forward heifers sold readily from £179 to £203 for 542k at £1100 for a Belleeks farmer. Second quality heifers sold in an improved demand from £165 to £175 per 100 kilos.
